This story begins about 2 years ago. My (at the time) bandmates and I took a little trip to Bend Oregon. We happened to wander into this little
guitar shop downtown, and there it was. This red RG with a reverse head,
sharktooth inlays, and a hum+sc pickup configuration. It was laying in the corner in peices. At the time, I had no money, but I figured I'd talk to the shop owner anways. He told me it was a repair, and he wouldn't sell it "as is" to me.
I had since been searching for this guitar.
Today, I wandered into Apple Music here in Portland. Low and behold, what did I see hanging in the wall? I ran over and grabbed it. First thing out of the salesmans mouth was "HEY! PUT THAT BACK!!"
That was almost enough to earn the good ol' one-two. But I quickly remidied the situation by telling him I wanted to buy it. He was like "Oh, I don't think that's for sale, I think it's just a repair." It was in worse condition than before. No trem, no tuners, no nut, cheap pickups, and the body is half sanded.
But after some more talking, he offered it to me for $150. I told him I could do $100 and put it on layaway. He wouldn't budge. Keep in mind, I have no money. So if someone wants it, I can get you the phone number to the shop.
