Replacing Edge3 with Hard-Tail trem?

I have no use for a floyd rose tremelo on one of my RGs. Can I easily remove the Edge3 and replace it with a standard Hard-Tail type trem? I'd be getting a luthier to do it for me, is it a big job?

That's an oxymoron. What is it you want - a vintage style trem? A hard tail?

a hardtail is a bridge that doesn't move.
A tremolo is a bridge that does move.

If you never use your tremolo, there is a process called blocking. Put some wood shims on both sides of the tremolo block so that it cannot move.

Why did you get a FR guitar in the first place?

I loved the look and feel of the guitar. I wasn't too keen on the FR but it was a really good deal, and I still love the neck and sound of the guitar.
