rg 2550 peoblem.any experts.

i have constant buzzing.my relief is fine.when i loosen the trusrod all the way till ie freewheels(right loose)then the buzzing goes away.should'nt the truss rod be tight all the time?like loosen it to increase the relief and still be tight?my action seems high compared to my epi les paul and i wanted to lower it a bit.and yes i used all the info off this sitethanks for the great info.i put on new strings got that set up fine but it still buzzes on the low e from the 1st to the 8 fret.so i decided to set the acton lower.did a little on the truss rod then a little on the bridge.after that i tried for 2 hours then took it to a guitar tech at a local music sore and he said he had no idea why it is still buzzing and he never charged me for it because he said everything i did looked fine.any ideas?
thanks guys

maybe a high spot in a fret on the low E side. just a guess.
after you string it, tune it up and let it sit with the strings on it for a day or so to let the strings settle and the woods "find their place" and also settle. then start checking the neck relief and adjust the truss and bridge as needed. i have noticed lots of players like the action deadly low but with my heavy handed playing i have to bring it up a little as it buzzes madlywhen i play and i can't stand ANY buzz. that's just me though. if you have a lighter touch, then again, maybe a high fret. Rich could probably tell you about new factory frets still needing a minor leveling.
just my 2cents.
