just cuz its a 9.2 dont mean i like it i have 12 ibanez guitars all rg550s or modded rg550s except this one i like one...my XXth rfr...and its never been played...or maybe my 92 550

ive sold more than 35 550s on evil bay this last year all 9.0 or more doesnt mean you keep them....

i dont know why i bother with some of you guys on here...why do you talk crap...all i asked is what you guys thought of these guitars and i get a bunch of crap from idiots like "sell it for 200bucks" whatever your an idiot its not like im on the ibanez forum with a bunch of kids...i thought we were grown ups here

I'm with ya just42dave. I've had several of the 520s. Including a blue swirled 520. They are cool guitars. Great necks. The mahogany/maple bodies sound heavy as hell. But other than that, they're a bit boring. If it had a maple board it just might have enough to be a keeper!
I'm big into the 550's and Jems so the 520s always get left in the cases.
They're good sellers though. Mine always went in the $450- $500 range.

What did you expect? You start a thread asking if you should sell a guitar you just got. How are we supposed to know what YOU should do?

200 isn't that bad of a deal. I'll give you 220 for it shipped. drrr drrrr ddrrrrrr just kidding. Those are great guitars. Boring yes, but components, aka super wizard, edge and flamed top body, second to none.

i wouldn't say boring at all. i have one and it hangs in there with my prestiges. it's actually my beater. what is boring is hsh rg's in basswood. how many of these does ibanez make? h/h with special 5 switching and a mahogany body is in no way boring. i was incredibly impressed with the rg520qs. i wish that they would re-release it with the prestige neck and no pickup rings. even if it had an edge pro, i would buy one.

Agreed on the hsh rg basswoods!
I've had several 520's and have to say that they sound heavy as hell.
I love the necks, 2 humbuckers and the mahogany bodies, but other than that they weren't much to brag about.
Great "beaters" though!
Maple boards, and better color choices... then I'd buy another one.
