RG 550 in RF or FA ?

Sorry guys, it was not faded one bit. I have seen and owned faded guitars, and my orange guitar was the same color under the pickguard.

I would put money on the fact that your guitar neck was not original to the body. In 1987 only Black, White, DY and RFR were available, RFR, black and DY had matching headstocks. I think yours is a 89' FA body with an 87' neck. If you look at your FA color then look at the catalog's:

Interesting that they have a picture of PG with the Telesavalas in the brochure. Sorry to go off-topic, but is that not a bit weird especially when he's holding a non-production model? Dunno, just thinking out loud....

What I noticed as more strange in that picture is the RG750T "Available with a built in Samson Wireless system" I have never heard of that!!

I have never seen the FA 550, but when you put my orange guitar next to a RFR, it difference becomes very apparent they are different.

Unfortunately, I sold the guitar about a year ago, so I can't offer much else.

Well yeah, RFR is the bright, neon version of FA basically.

The first guitar is WAY more orange than mine! and it doesn't have the matching headstock. I have seen an rg550 with a rosewood fretboard stamped RG550M by mistake once. That could prolly be a RG550CO by mistake.
