RG 550 in RF or FA ?

Hello, I'm new here and thought I'd start off with a question regarding a recent purchase.

I bought a '89 RG 550 in a very bright red/orange colour and I'm not sure wether it is a road flare red or a five alarm red finish, but the fact that it has a matching headstock tends to point in the direction of RF..

Can anyone help me on this one....

Dat is RFR inderdaad. Deze heb ik laatst op MP Gezien volgens mij. Stond laatst ook een DY op erg vet.

Maar was er wel een RFR in '89 ?

Looks like RFR faded slightly by overexposure to UV light.

Does anyone here know if five alarm red is actually a paint that I can find to repaint a body? or is it just something ibanez made up?

RFR was not available in 1989 Neither were matching headstocks in 89' so this one is a weird one.

It almost looks closer to a Carotene Orange, but you couldn't get those with matching headstocks, at least I don't think you could.

Its probably an 88'.

and can you guys please speak english.

As Rob wrote, on RFR came with a matching headstock.

My old Carotene Orange 550.

WTF? CO wasn't a color option in 87'. I thought it made its debut in 88 on the 540 and the 560.

I still don't believe CO exists on RG550's. Ayrton, I think yours is just a faded RFR.

And I never saw a 550FA without a black headstock.
