rg 570: root beer or gray nickel
i'm not sure which color to get. i can the the root beer for 400 new and the gray nickel for 445 new. i like the gray nickel more because its lighter and shows more details of the guitar and makes it look nicer, but its the kind of color ya get sick of after a while. the root beer metallic one is ok, kind of ugly though. the RM also has the satin chrome finish on the tremolo which i've heard comes off after a while if your hand sweats(and seen) i can't really decide. whats your opinion?

oh i also plan on playing mostly shred and metal(metallica, iced earth, maiden ect) i think the gray nickel would fit for shred but not really for metal(unless its stupid korn...) so i'm also not sure what would look better for gigs

What colour hardware is on the Gray Nickel one? I remember seeing the 7620 in gray nickel with Powder
Cosmo hardware
, and it looked sweet.

i thought it was? maybe thats not what its called, but it is satin chrome. the same thing that was on the rg 520qs. i've looked at some pics of the RM and they seem to have the cosmo black. can't tell that much, i know i saw that satin chrome on them somewhere. what does ibanez call the satin chrome since thats not "official"?
and ibanez needs to get some more color options, most of their colors straight out suck

I've got an '02 RG570GN and it has Powder Cosmo hardware -
Edge trem
. Same as my '01 RG3120TW with Lo-
Pro Edge trem
.
Cosmo Black is much darker in color.

If you're talking about the flat gray colour, it's "Powder Cosmo". They also have what i think they call "Vintage Nickel" which is only on the JEM7VSBL, and "Violet Chrome" on the RGT series. Then there's the standard "Cosmo Black" which is sort of a dark shiny bronze colour, and your standard Chrome and Gold.
In the past, they've done satin finishes, which they called "Pearl Nickel" or "White Gold" on their hardware, but very few models came over here with it. I think the JEM7BSB was the last one that had it, but there are no current models with anything that would resemble "satin chrome". There are other finishes available in Japan, like "Cosmo White", which is also a matte chrome-like finish, but those models are not available here.

Powder cosmo will last for about 2 weeks. At least my 01 RG570GN suffered that. the upper part of the trem (like where you would insert the barif it were left handed) lost the color Reeeeally fast.

What about that violet powder coat on the
neck thru
3120? The purple model.............anyways. Ibanez has made LOTs of colors through the past. Even though current production models typically only come in a few colors, its a manufacturing nightmare to produce a color thats not "IN" so to speak. At least thats my opinion on it. How many black guitars can you sell?? black ages HORRIBLY. Although I have two black ibanez's. The powder cosmo shouldnt tarnish but it wears quickly on some of em. My trem is only wearing a little on the saddles, and the
pickup ring
. Not the baseplate *yet*. But it gives it a nice aged look you just have to get used to it. I dont know of any guitar more than 5 or 6 years thats been played and doesnt have tarnish somewhere

Ibanez definitely needs new colours...most of the current ones more than suck, they uber-suck.

I haven't seen one personally, but i know these are not violet powder coated. It's a chrome-like metal plating that has a slight violet tint.
