go to Ibanez.co.jp. At least 3 different hardtail
Prestige guitars
are available.

The USRG10 (1994-95) comes to mind. It was a high-end
fixed bridge model
with the PBC "tension-free" neck, alder body , a figured maple top, and
Dimarzio pickups
. The PBC neck seems to have its believers and detractors (lots of juicy old threads on that topic), but the ones I've played seemed plenty nice. I haven't seen a lot of the USRG10's pop up, but Mr. Jemsite (Glen) has one (I think?), and there was at least one in the auctions within the last 6 months.

There were at least a couple of
USA Custom Exotic Wood
hardtails as well. Mr. Brent Duersch is lucky enough to have scored a gorgeous purplish one not too long ago.

I'd buy a PGM but wouldn't want to ruin it by stripping it of it's painted-on F Holes, & by adding a tone control

What's the point of that comment? Ibanez is known for it's floating-locking-bridge guitars, not its hardtails. The only hardtails out now in North America are low-end (minus signature models of course).

You're totally thinking about RG guitars. Ibanez most classic models come from the 70's, such as the Artist and Iceman, which are...fixed bridge.
Ibanez is a lot more than RG's! You should check ażout the SZ Prestige...yummy!

Where did you guys see an SZ Prestige? I searched here (SZ + Prestige) and didn't get any hits, and didn't find it in the Ibanez Japan site.
