I've actually been looking around for another fixed bridge. This one would be perfect with another humbucker. The single coil in the neck would be awesome!
I really like both of them.... but I've been accused of being tacky. LOL!

Isn't the first one just a cheaper version of an Ibanez Prestige RG2610E-BK?

I like the one with the etched scratch plate though, that's a neat touch. You can do some many things with the looks of guitars these days, I'm amazed people still stick to standard single colours or bursts. Anything to make it stand out a little is good by me.

Sorry. I don't mind the red binding, but it needs to be on the headstock as well. It doesn't tie in with the rest of the guitar.

Must be, yeah. Being young automatically means you have bad taste! Nah, I see your point. I just don't know anyone who would want one. Did you see the spider web guitar and the brick wall one too? What's next, Artex? LOL.

i don't see any 'ninja' about it.. LOL, let's play 'IF' games :

if only the guitar comes with huge, i mean big 'shuriken' inlays, then we can call it a 'ninja'.

if it has tremolo, It would be better....

If it was made in japan.... I will buy one.

I often browse thru the catalogs on Rich's site, and wonder where Ibanez went wrong. Some of the guitars that used to be offered were just beautiful, but now it seems everything is aimed at kids with entry level guitars.

I have resorted to just having the bodies made that I want to go with the necks I like.

That's probably the best idea. BTW, who do you go to for custom bodies?

Re: RG Ninja 2008 Spring Special Limited Edition

It's funny to me how a Japanese guitar company makes a guitar that is so purely steroeotypical Japanese. It7s not all that authentic looking but it does play to the foreigners idea of Japan. But, the strange part is...aren't they only available in Japan?

I think Ibanez still makes a good guitar but, I would have to say that I will probably, when I have money, do what Aryton does.

Having read the Ibanez: The Untold Story book, I agree. It shows in there how Ibanez became a giant based on it's ties to shredding and the big hair metal of the 80's, but when grunge kicked in, everyone wanted to steer well clear of Ibanez for fear of the tag of metallers.

I guess they're still seeing the effects of that today. Les Pauls seem to be the "in" thing these days, but I just don't see why myself.

LP's, Tele's, and semi-hollow bodies seem to be kind of popular with the "indie" and emo crowd. I personally don't give a damn. I prefer Ibanez because I'm used to how they feel. Yeah, I like how they look too but that's secondary.
I used to get razzed over playing Ibanez, especially in the 90's, but now I say "f$%k them!" Guitar-wise and music-wise - I play what I want!
Unfortunately, Ibanez seems to be between a rock and a hard place with some of their fans. Some want the old '91 catalog while others want something more contemprary, and still others want to go oooooold school with the LP's and Teles and avoid Ibanez altogether.
