Looks like these are Japan-only. The Ninja Gear one looks cool too. Any idea if these and the maple board RG2570 and 2550 will appear in the US?

Re: RG Ninja 2008 Spring Special Limited Edition

I looked up the Sakura one, I only saw listings for it from European stores. Definitely going to be outside of Japan, but not sure about the US.

Didn't check the Ninja, but the Sakura one seems to just be a slightly overpriced normal RG Tremolo guitar (could just be because I got the price from a European company), since it is Edge III equipped. Probably be cheaper and easier to modify a better guitar to look like that then to try to make that into a better guitar.

I'm not digging the gold... Chrome would match the "etched" guard more I think. The binding as well... a bit overdone.

Why does that bridge look suspiciously like a lo-pro edge?

site says edge III, but that looks like a lo-pro to me. Weird.

yeah that is what I was thinking.
If they were MIJ and released in the US i'd get one and refinish it and put a real pickup in it. needs a neck pickup though.

actually I have a 550 body that I am almost done doing the hardtail conversion to. I just need to get me a gotoh bridge from stew mac then refinish it when it warms up here.

Yeah, the one with Gold hardware is completely tasteless and tacky. The single pickup one is not too bad but it needs a neck single coil, in my opinion. On the other hand, I still wouldn't buy it if it did.

Re: RG Ninja 2008 Spring Special Limited Edition

Dee, I rarely complain about the Ibanez line up, but it's like there isn't even any real effort or thought going into some of their guitars and these new models are awful. I suppose some of the younger generation may like them which I guess is what these guitars are aimed at.
