RG questions....

Hi there, my RG;s lovely, a real work horse, and now i need to get a trem arm for her, i just need to know if mine is a screw in or push in, its got a screw at the bottom of the hole, accessible from the back of the trem, is that the screw that holds it in or is that just to set how far it drops into the hole? or.... is there a male screw thread on the trem arm? and female thread on the bridge?

also does anyone else run their necks loose? i wondered if this may put mega stress on the neck/ neck pocket, if i have it tightened in, i cannot get the action feeling nice and theres some deadish spots, but running the neck loose in the pocket and putting more tilt on the neck instead of truss rod adjustment it seems to run a lot sweeter, better intonation and now a very comfortable action with clear pinch harmonics on every fret and new harmonics everywhere????

Re: RG questions....

Ignore the screw on the bottom it will tell you nothing. All trems have that screw, it's a replaceable part of the trem. As far as what kind of trem arm, look at the top of the trem. Do you see threads? If so, get yourself a trem with the nut on the bottom that screws into it. No threads and flat? Then you got an edge trem, that needs an old whammy bar. NOT the kind they sell at guitar center, it has two white bushings and you just push it in.

Re: RG questions....

This looks like a Lo Pro Edge trem.
In which case you have the push-in type arm with two white bushings.

The screw at the bottom should hold a little metal spring-type thingie, which holds the arm in place when you snap it in.

I agree.

I think the guitar is an RG550LTD NPM (New Penny Matte).
