Are you thinking of Christopher Woods?

Yeah, that was mine. Here's the body, it's an RG7-620 replacement:

Wow, that's stunning. What's "crotch walnut?" I assume it comes from the crotch of the tree but what special properties does it have?

Re: Rg style with beveled edge somewhere on here

I don't think it's really got any special tonal properties, outside of what you'd expect from Walnut. The "crotch" is basically where the tree splits into two main branches, so you get nice grain in it. I basically wanted a figured top that wasn't more quilted maple (which I think is done to death), and told Chris to just pick out something cool looking and dark. I'm exoecting the sound to be close to a mostly alder sound. It's still in the works, but it should be almost any day now. Rob is waiting on the old body as we speak! The headstock is also getting a walnut overlay, and the little silver dots in the fretboard are being pulled, and replaced with dots of purpleheart.

I was thinking of put a nice Bubinga top on one of my extra bodies. A slab of that would like nice
