I don't think it's really got any special tonal properties, outside of what you'd expect from Walnut. The "crotch" is basically where the tree splits into two main branches, so you get nice grain in it. I basically wanted a figured top that wasn't more
quilted maple (which I think is done to death), and told Chris to just pick out something cool looking and dark. I'm exoecting the sound to be close to a mostly alder sound. It's still in the works, but it should be almost any day now. Rob is waiting on the old body as we speak!

The headstock is also getting a walnut overlay, and the little silver dots in the fretboard are being pulled, and replaced with dots of purpleheart.
