RG with non floating vibrato ?
Hi guys !
One friend of mine has just bought a strange RG :
here are the pics :
It seems to come from 42X, 52X or 62X series, but i can't tell exactly what it is.
Maybe was it a
fixed bridge model
moded with a standard vibrato
What do you think of that ?

Keep your hands on it, and run.
Could be one of those 502s, Europe-only RGs.
Nice.

Re: RG with non floating vibrato ?
I'm sure, in -99 the 521 came with a wilkinson, I'm not sure if there was a fixed version too back then. There is even one of those in the
local music shop
here, same color, and same specs.

Re: RG with non floating vibrato ?
hehe, the shop here wants close to €1000 for it. Yes, they are retarded
It's been in the shop since 1999, except for a brief period in '01 or '02 when a friend of mine bought it, a month later he returned it because he wanted to play bass instead, and there was something wrong with the nut (loads of fret noise on the high-e string) It even has one of my strings on
And they are still trying to sell it for what it costed when it was new...

The high cost of rocking in the Nordics. Almost as high as the cost of living.

Re: RG with non floating vibrato ?
Not to nitpick, but the Wilkinson bridge on that RG IS a floating vibrato. It's just not a double locking system. The Wilkinson floats beautifully if you set it off the body about 1/8" to 1/4" - you can't pull up quite as far as if the guitar were routered out under the bridge.

reagarding the guitar in the pics, i've seen it in several norwegian shops.
one shop even said was made custom just for norway...

Seeing as this thread was more about identifying the guitar than the exact nature of the hardware involved, that posts seems a heck of a lot like nitpicking to me!!!
