rg1550 - my personal vice

hi folks!
finally i am pretty close to buy this guitar
i love it, everything i read about it seems great (except non-locking-studs) and it seems to be quite a good run for the money.
i just wanted some feedback from pros, meanings, perhaps someone already played this axe, owns it, got pictures?
does it suit my style? i'm into extreme powermetal (dragonforce) and trash-metal (testament, shadows fall)?
wanna change PUs, dont know which ones i should take?

for u guys, it may look like a simple post in a topic, for me its like a little part of my life, as i worked hard for the money i want to spend for this guitar. thx for reading

keep the flame burning, brothers |..|. o_O .|..|

This may or may not help, but I just recently got a RG1570RB, which is just like the 1550 without the guard, color, route... and I love it. I had to do very little right out of the box to set it up.... I even like the pups, after adjustments. The neck is incredible, and the new edge does not bother me at all like I thought it would. I am putting a smoked mirror pickguard on it for looks, and I am anxious to get that from Eddie by next week! Right before I got the RG1570, I tried the RGT3120... I sent it back unimpressed and got this one... IMPRESSED!!! It is the way to go! I highly recommend it. Good Luck!

I've got a 1550, i play mainly metal with it. I love its playability, and its sound, and thats just with stock pickups.

you shouldn't have any problems with the trem, and if you think you will then the studs mod at ibanez rules will sort you (banner up top). I used the trem violently for first 4months i owned the guitar, but since I joined my band I'm playing in drop-D so the trem is blocked.
You won't regret buying the guitar, and pickup wise you can't go wrong with dimarzios or duncans.

the edge pro 1 is installed on this guitar, right?
is it as good as the edge pro 2? better?
i read so much about the trems, that it slowly get the opinion that the edges suck generally...
but ibanez doesn't create useless things, do they? i thought the edge pro is an improvement? isn't it?
good dammit! wanna get best guitar for best price with maple fretboard, 24 jumbo frets and it shouldn't be used

the Edge/lo pro are generally regarded as the best floyd rose-type trems out there.
the 1550 has an Edge PRO which is the 2003 version. read the ibanez rules site for info on why it is not regarded as being as good as the old version.
The Edge Pro 2 is fitted to korean ibanez's.

you will not have any problems with the edge pro, and as i said before, if you think you will have problems, then do the stud mod thats on Rich's site.

I have an RG1550 along with a 570 and a Jem and I LOVE the 1550!! I really can't understand Ibanez discontinuing this model

I have no problems with the trem and I would be considered a moderate to heavy trem user.. On the pickup front. I'm leaning towards a Tone Zone and Air Norton in mine.. The stock pups are middle of the road imho.. I've certainly heard worse

Greetings. I own the 1550 with the following pickups in it: neck- Duncan Distortion + bridge- Duncan Screamin’ Demon. If you are into high gain then the 1550 would be a good pick. By default, the neck humbucker sounds twangy when the vol is rolled back a tad, largely due to the maple fretboard. This was even the case after I swapped the neck humbucker for the above-mentioned Duncan.

I love this guitar to bits because it’s kinda versatile, it handles all my fusion & black metal tones- no problems.
