RG2550EX

Hi guys and gals, Im new to this place but having played guitar for three years Ive finally decided to buy a quality instrument now that i have a job and some cash, Ive narrowed it down to two choices really: the JEM7vwh or the RG2550EX. Now I'd imagine you'd all favor the JEM but with the price quotes Ive seen, it'd cost me about three times more to get the JEM...is it really three times better? And for that matter, is the RG2550EX a piece of donkey dung or is it decent? Thanks in advance for your advice doods, cya

If I was you, I would save alot of $$$ and go out and buy a secondhand Ibanez RG550 from Evilbay or classified ads. You will save yourself alot of money and time.

You get a quality instrument for not alot of dosh, and I think they are the BEST guitar you can get for the money. Most people on here will agree with me. You just cant go wrong with one. They are just as good as a JEM with some better pickups. Trust me, go for a used RG550 and be happy.

I have owned 2, and regret getting rid of both, I am after one again now.
I just love them.

thanks

better pick ups than a jem? i just researched 'em and they have the v7s1v8 combination...are they really all that great? cus they're going REALLY cheap on e-bay at the moment, so I might pick one up, and if you're looking for one then maybe you could look there as well dood. it's hard to believe they play better than a JEM though cus JEM's are so much more expensive but maybe that's the rip off factor lol, thanks for ur help

What Gary meant is that if you put in better pickups they would be "just as good", not that they came with better pickups.
