block it with a piece of wood cut to shape. The lo-trs II isnt a good trem. With the trem blocked you will lose the ability to use the wammy, but gain tuning stability, and the abilty to downtune (you can take off / unlock the toplock)

the trs (or trs II??? I can never remember) on my RG470 suxor'ed for the first year that I played it and then it started to acheive tuning stability. Perhaps it will get better over time (although the general pattern w/ floating trems is for tuning stability to worsen over time - after the break-in period). It's still no Edge, but it keeps tune decently now.

I'd be perfectly happy with a guitar that needs tuning every 3-4 hours

RG270's tremolo! (sucks :/ )

ok but still a few problams:

i got single locking treomolo it's the cheapest and the worst trem ibanez got..

if i'll cut a wood to shape it wont harm the tremolo it self?

and i thought maybe its those springs in the back
i use 0.9 strings set and got three springs in the back of the guitar

so maybe i need stronger springs?(still 3 s[rings but stronger)

ofcourse i know i've got a RG270 and not some kind of a jem or uv model but if it possible i'd still want to make my RG playble and fun as possible.

Make sure you stretch your strings really well when you put a fresh set on. Improperly stretched strings will constantly drift out of tune.

Ibanez Junkie, if you have the single locking trem do yourself a favor.....buy Fender bullet strings! They don't get caught up in the string channels like ball end strings. I had a student who had a 270, I installed those bullet strings for him and that cured his problem of constantly having to re-tune.

Before you do any mods, please give it a try.

In a nutshell, if I may feild this one . . .

After you fix the new strings to the guitar, and before you clamp the nut, pull each string about an inch or two at the 12th fret, it will go flat, tune it back up to pitch and pull on it again . . . keep this up until the string doesn't go flat any more. (It'll go a little flat, but only a few cents).

Do this with each string, then tune everything up and clamp the strings.

You should do with even with a hard-tail. They will eventually stretch out themselves, but this makes things a LOT quicker.
