Well if you want more of a Gibson/PRS feel and look go for the SZ, if you want more of an Jackson/Ibanez pointy type feel/look grab the RG.
The guitars are very different, different necks, different construction, different scale so you'll have to decide for yourself.

Re: rg321mh vs sz320mh

I love my RG321MH, but my onlyl gripe is they put the pickup swtich and vol knob to close to my right hand so I"m always running into them when I play the bottom three strings. I've learned to adapt so no biggie for me just thought you should know!

Re: rg321mh vs sz320mh

i own both for obvious reasons- they can't replace each other, same brand name, different offerings altogether.

which neck profile do you favour? if you wish for a flatter, thin type, go with the RG (however, the Wizard II in the 321 isn't the flattest/ thinnest Ibanez has to offer. IMO it feels just right, very addictive...). if you wish for a fatter, rounded profile, the SZ would serve you well.

also, the scale length of these 2 guitars are diff, the RG being the slightly longer of the 2- 25.5"

I have the SZ320mh, and I think I would have preferd the RG321mh. I miss the Wizzard II neck on my old RG. If you're into RG's go for the RG321MH. Thats what I would do. The SZ is nice too, but the RG neck is nicer I think.

RG321mh with emgs? I think i feel some GAS. *drool* I would definitely go with that option as the stock SZ pickups are not that great. The wizard 2 profile on the 321, from what i hear, is a little bit thicker than the original wizard and is very addicting. Also, the mh finish is really beautiful and it also has neck binding. Overall it is a very striking guitar. EMGs in that guitar would be a dream ride.

TWO THUMBS WAY WAY UP ON THE 321!

By the way, welcome to the forum!

thnx man

i tried the sz520 today thats the better looking version and i liked it but it did not feel special but it did play good and i like the smaller frets

to bad the natural finish for the rg321mh is not avilable here or else i know wich i pick and i dont like black to much so only royal blue is left but i dont know how it looks irl

does anyone here have a pic of the royal blue finish for me?\

btw i am thinking on putting emg 81/60 on for the rg because it is way cheaper wil that sound better than the iba/duncan pups on the sz?
i never played a guitar with emg's before but shadows fall has those pick ups to and i really like there sound

The emgs will blow the Seymour Duncans out of the water my friend.

not true, it's a matter of preferance- if you like clear, passive units, the Duncan would reward you well.

Sorry, forgot to say that that was only my opinion and not a fact. Thanks for the reminder.

Re: rg321mh vs sz320mh

i've handled the royal blue version in person but have no pics of it... i bought the black finish instead. imagine a dark blue hue with visible wood grain on the body due to an absence of lacquer. hope my black 321 would give you an idea of the body texture...

Re: rg321mh vs sz320mh

there's definitely black paint on it, just that it's devoid of the lacquer overcoat... if you've handled the Fender Highway1 series, you'd know what i mean (or the Gibson Faded series for that matter). i don't quire like black either, but i prefer this black than the royal blue. after 14yrs, this is my first black guitar...
