Re: rg350dx

no i actually just bought one,..and it is well worth your money,..its really a good guitar take my word for it,..it comes with desent pickups,..and it is well worth its money....i own 4 jacksons and this is something way better in terms of price.the tremolo is incredibly smooth and very well tonated,.....it's in my opinion a breakthrough for such a cheap priced guitar,....this guitar isnt just looks,...it stands up to its appearance

Re: rg350dx

just got one as well, it really is well worth the money. Most will argue that the pickups and bridge are not good, but I think they do the job very well, and for the price if you wanted to swap them out later, you still haven't broken the bank. Real nice work on the neck and frets. I would buy one again if that helps.

Re: rg350dx

Yeah, it probably was defective. My guitar has the exact same trem and I haven't had any problems with it. It works great and holds its tuning quite well for a guitar of that price. I like it much better than those licensed floyd rose trems.

Re: rg350dx

I've got one, had it for about a year. Its a great guitar, its taken over my Gibson SG as my primary guitar. I did change out the pickups and rewired it though, not because there was something wrong but more out of personal preference.

I've since painted that middle pickup white, although its starting to peel off. I tried to use Fender pup covers but they didn't fit.

What type of Jacksons? How is does the RG stand up tone wise and in playability to your Jacksons?

Re: rg350dx

I got an RG350DX off Evilbay a few months ago for a ridiculously low price that was NEVER used. I was suprised at how alike it was with my brand new Jem7vWH that cost nearly 10x as much. I must not have the ear that so many others on here seem to have, but when it is plugged into the GNX4 along with the same patches as I use with the Jem, I cannot tell the difference. The trem is the only part that is lacking a bit.
I bought the RG to modify in ways I never would the Jem.

Re: rg350dx

To my knowledge, it CAN be done but I wouldn't recommend it. If you're going to go active then go after all the way. I have the EMG Zakk Wylde set along with an EMG S pickup and they all rock. In fact, the pickups that I like the most are the 85 in the neck and the S in the middle. The 85 in the neck has an awesome lead tone and the S in the middle gives me a great clean tone. The 85 also gives some really good clean tones as well as long as you roll back the volume a bit.

Re: rg350dx

The 350dx was the worse guitar I ever owned. I owned it for 2 months and and during those 2 months I had to bring it too a tech twice. The intonation was horrible, the trem plates were to weak, the locking nut made cracking noises all the time, and it just couldn't stay in tune. The pickups aren't even that great, they're the powersound one that are used in most rgs. Don't get me wrong, the look is beautiful, but thats not what counts.
