Re: Rg350Dx/Ex

Also, what's wrong with the Edge 3 trem? Not that I've tried an Edge 3 guitar but some of the ones I have my eye on have it as standard.

Re: Rg350Dx/Ex

The edge 3 is a cheap trem, its sad, but Ibanez has made a lot of cost-cutting measures and one of them is not putting the higher-end stuff on their intermediate guitars. The edge 3 is made of softer metal, so its just not as sturdy, i find the knife edges aren't too great and it doesn't return to pitch absolutely perfectly like an original edge. The arm is also a drop in without studs to hold it in place, so getting violent with it is a little out of the question.

all in all though, the edge 3 ain't terrible. In fact its quite good as far as low priced lisenced FR's go IMO. I still have mine on my 350, and after i got a Jem with the edge on it, it's apparent that it's just not as good as an Edge.

Re: Rg350Dx/Ex

There is nothing wrong with the Edge III trem, but it would be a WASTE of money to put an Edge Pro on EVERY Ibanez RG because then no one would buy the Prestige models. For the price of the regular RG series guitars, I think that the Edge III trem is great. Sure, it's not the perfect trem but you really get what you pay for.

Re: Rg350Dx/Ex

Yeah, I had that same problem with the bar when I did actually use the trem but I just got used to reaching down really quickly and grabbing it.

Yeah thats like the only Prob, but the bar is great for doing all Vai's and Satriani's Lil' Tricks.

Re: Rg350Dx/Ex

For $2200 new they had BETTER be wicked axes. But yeah, I've played some JEMs as well and they ARE some very badass guitars but I still don't think they're quite worth that much money. I could definitely see paying $1500-$1800 for one new but that would be my complete and utter max. Shoot, for that kind of money I could get a J-custom and they are actually EXACTLY what I want in a guitar.
