They look pretty good value for money in my books - UK price is about £300

I had a small go on one in a music shop and thought it was OK

I know a guy at the Ibanez forum who owns one. The only thing that scares me is the Edge III.

Swap it out with an OFR. Thats what I did with my 370dx, and I cant put it down. It's easy to install and set up, I had mine done perfectly in about an hour and 15 minutes. Blows away any Edge Pro.

That's me! I have one and even though it has the Wizard II and Edge III, is still a really nice-playing and nice-sounding guitar. I'm a sucker for maple fret boards, so that really sealed the deal for me. I'm going to send mine to Sims and have it repainted LNG. I've also recently reclaimed a set of Gibson ceramic pickups (496R/500T) so I'm gonna slap those in there as well and make it a real screamer. Overall, for the price, I'd say one of the nicer "lower-end" RG series--pick one up. First, you won't be sorry if you leave it stock, and second, you won't worry about messing it up if you decide to mod it.

Cheers,

Race

Shawn (Flobanez) owns one. PM him if you need a first-hand opinion on one.

It's going to be my next guitar actually. I haven't got a trem guitar atm, and this fits the bill.

I agree about the sharktooth inlays, but why should they offer less choices of fretboard woods? That's dumb.

I say keep the mapleboard, but do dots. Black sharkteeth look hideous on a maple board.

I think they look OK, but it just kinda labels it "Heavy Metal" when I feel the RG isn't just a Metal guitar, it's a very versatile instrument. Dots would make it appeal to a bigger audience. A blank fretboard with only side dots would be even better. Nice and clean looking.

I like the matching inlays, I'm just so sick of black. Still would be nice if we had options of fretboards & colors for most models. I like the idea of no inlays except the side markers. Birds eye maple and no inlays would be killer. Also what happened to ebony ? Ibanez seems to be the only company not offering an ebony board on a guitar. Even the J-Customs are rosewood these days. Seems like Ibanez over stocked up on black paint and rosewood.
