RG450?

Just wondered what the rg450's are like. Are they a cheaper version of say a 550? Anyone here got one? Heres one for sale Item number: 190203389360

IMO nothing like an RG550. Different trem and pick-ups. But for that price it's okay. Plus you can put better pick-ups in and swap the trs trem for an OFR.
Personnally, I'd hold out for a RG5xx or RG7xx but you'll obviously have to pay more than £125!

or wait until you can find an older 450 - with an edge trem...

Id like one in good condition, open to colours but not to keen on black. You know of one for sale?

I saw a black one on fleabay! Plus if you search on there, you'll find a few RG5XX's. Also look for RG15xx and Rg25xx

it depends..
what year of RG 450 you are talking about?
if RG 450 from the 1992, it has the same neck dimension as the Rg 550, only the 450 has rosewood board and unknown pickups.
other is the same with 550 from the same year.

the jap rg450 could probably be considered cheaper 550s. the 2003 models onward come with the same tremelo unit, the same pickups and probably the same neck. they are a good buy and the standard of the guitar was as a good as a 550 i played. no noticeable difference.

Hello, I recently aquired an RG 450 that the body was smashed to sh!t (thus my user name) and I'm in the process of fixing it.
I got it for free, and I don't plan on spending a lot of money on it to get it going again.
I'm bidding on a 470 body.
I also noticed the wammy system is broken. Some pieces are broken off the bridge.
So, do I replace that with an Edge, or stick with the Lo TRS II?
I don't know much about these guitars.
My other guitars are a '79 Les Paul Custom (Cherry Sunburst with gold hardware) and a Paul copy Lotus, also made around '79 or '80. This one has a DiMarzio Super Distirtion, Washburn Wonder Bar wammy, and Schaller machine heads.
Oh yeah, the neck and fretboard are maple on the RG.
