RG470 w/Japanese neck

As a favor to a co-worker, I'm doing a set up on her son's RG470. They ordered it in '98. The wierd thing is, it has a Japanese neck. I know this from the seriel number which reads "f98xxxxx". It has the Lo-Trs bridge, but what looks like a deeper Edge-type trem route. No input jack cavity, and aanj. V1 and V2 hummies.

Anybody got any ideas/explinations?

RG470 w/Japanese neck

All the newer 470's I've seen started with an F. I think they started making them in Japan in 98, same year they switched to the V7 and V8. The V1 and V2 must be aftermarket.

Re: RG470 w/Japanese neck

There are a few oddities with the RG470 line. One year actually came with Edge bridges from the factory and several years have necks with an RG550 stamp on the heel.
