RG520QSTK - question about the RG520

I have a few questions about this axe. What type of fretwire is on this guitar? Its listed as Jumbo so does that mean its 6100 or 6105? Also, how different is the guitars appearance from what it is on say Ibanez's website. Does anyone have any pics they might post? Thanks.

I remeber some pics of one on the forum awile back, they pretty sweet looking guitars for the price. If you have ever tried an rg I'm guessing it has the same fret wire.

I have one of these and it's really nice. *I couldn't tell you about the fretwire though as I'm not down on the specks of Dunlop wire. *I can say that it's the same stuff as on my other Jap RG's. *The one I have was special ordered by Tomizm after he and I saw a beautiful one at a store. *The one that came in looked completely differet and MUCH darker. *So dark, it's hard to see the patteren on the wood. *Still cool though. *Get it, drop in some Dimarzios, strip the neck and go to town. *If you like RG's you won't be dissapointed. *Gotta love that Edge trem

If I remember correctly, the JPM has 6100 in it, and the 520 didnt feel like the JPM, so I would guess 6105 (if thats wider). *Its probably run of the mill 500-700 series fretwire.

tomizin describes the frets well...I'm not sure they're actually Dunlop frets, but 6105 is probably close...or I think 6150 might be closer from this description ?

Click on "fret size"...

Here's one I had in blue a while back...one of the better quilts I've seen on these. *This one was a bit darker inside out of the sun.

Picked it up at a guitar show for $250, but it needed some TLC. *I liked the guitar--great bang for the buck--but ended up with a Prestige RG. *

I have the Trans Blue model which is the very one on Rich's Site

That's how dark the new ones are, but under the right light mine looks as clear as the one in the pic greg posted above and it blew me away....TERRIFIC QUILTING!!!

The colour is more aqua than blue. I can post excellent pics of the Trans Black if someone tells me how to upload pics into this post. I knew how in the old forums and the Ikoncode only shows how to put up pics from other sites not from my PC.

Anyway, it is a terrific axe which will reward you infinitely. I am very happy with it. However, if you are buying it new I would opt for the RG3120. The tops on those things are blindingly attractive.

Damn. Why doesn't it mark "UNREAD" when a post is edited? Anyway, the pics are above.
