RG550 1987 and RG550 20th: do they have the same pickguard?

I'm buying a matching pickguard and truss rod cover for my rg 550 20th, but the maker pointed out that they might have different screw layouts/shapes/knob holes.

I recall reading that the volume knob is slightly further away. Is this true? Any other different spacing? If anyone with both guitars could provide some input that would be great! Thanks.

All that matters are the holes for the screws to mount it to the body. I doubt that the volume knob being slightly further away will cause any trouble, as from what I remember from my 550, there is a lot of room for all the controls.

Hmm, I see. that's not definitive but thanks. Has anyone actually replaced the pickguard on a RG550 20th?

No, the 87' 550 had on a different position the volume knob

Ibanez moved the volume knob because the tremolo bar would hit it on dives.

Ahh okay, so that is true. I guess I'll just have to drill that out myself.

Are the screw locations/holes the same?

If i were you i'd have the screw holes left blank and be drilled(by you) to the same spot as your old pickguard.even original pickguards' screw holes from ibanez don't exactly line up on their own guitars-RG to RG,jem etc. vice versa.
