RG550

Hey guys! Uh, i know this is gonna sound pretty dumb on my part, but honestly, how great are the original edge bridges? I've heard miraculous things about them, and seeing as how I'm looking into a 1990 RG550 with an original edge, i thought I'd like to know about it. Does the original edge allow you to raise the pitch radically?

Re: RG550

The edge on my RG550 operates more smoothly and returns to pitch much more reliably than the trem on my Strat. 'Course, that's probably due to the locking studs as well.

Re: RG550

My experience with locking trems goes all the way back to the original Floyd Rose without fine tuners. The Edge and Edge LoPro are my favs with the Edge Pro right behind. Something about the casting makes the sound a little less bitey than the steel trems, the shape is a bit more comfy and they hold tune as good as anything out there as long as they are set up right.
