rg550?

im in a dillemna right now.my friend is offering me his rg550 for sale.i have always wanted to own a rg550.however i have my rg320 which i love too much.its been with me for many gigs and i am somehow attached to it.i love the feel of the neck,though i havent tried a super wizard neck i dont know how it feels

but the rg550 has what i want-maple fretboard and colour.

should i get the rg550?because if i do its going to be my main axe and i would feel bad not playing my 320.if i get it i am going to do a full upgrade gotoh trem,dimarzios,6105 frets.

Is the 550 a reissue or original?

I've owned a 320DX and currently own a 550 and the 550 blows the 320 away in every aspect. You won't need to replace the trem if it is an original 550. It already rocks.

The 550 is superior to the 320 in all the aspects, keep in mind only that the super wizard is really thin compared to the wizard II

I have a 1991 RG550 and an '03 RG370DX. The RG550 blows it away as far as sound goes, although you can change pickups. The V1/S1/V2 pickups are nice. The tremelo isn't as stiff as the new ones (for fluttering, if you do that sort of thing) and I think the neck is a bit thinner. I bought the RG550 new in '91, sold it in '96, found it again (yes, same guitar - I recognized my dents...lol!) at a pawn shop last year, and it is just as solid now as the day I bought it. I agree with finstah on the tremelo. It rocks. I wouldn't change a thing. The only thing not original is the volume/tone knobs Had to lose those Strat-looking things!

Fortunately, guitars don't get jealous, so don't feel bad if you don't play your other one as much anymore. If that was the case, my Destroyer would never speak to me again! :P

Agree. Get the 550. I sold mine years ago, and regret it to this day.

Definitely 550 no comparison If she is an older 87-90 They are real gems I have one with a Steve's special and a paf Pro in it way Cool and yes this one has feelings..lol

550's are great!i have a lot of them and for the price they are the best!you can modified them paint doe what you like it doesnt matter.guitars to beat up and have a lot of fun!real players and good guitars too.
