RG550 Cleanup

Picked up a '90 RG550 on evilbay for $300. Air norton in the neck, Evo in the bridge. When I got it, it looked like it sunk with the titanic, then i took wd-40 to the trem, replaced the screws and scrubbed the pole pieces and heres some before and after pics. After a good setup this is one of the smoothest guitars I've ever played. I swear its not far from a jem playability wise. I think it was a hell of a deal!

I love the color. I can't it on the ibanez catalog but id like to know what the name of it is. Also the matching headstock rocks!

I thought why not bring out all the axes for a photoshoot.

Violet metallic? I never take catalogs to heart, I've never seen any list lefty 550's in anything but black, yet i've seen 2 Road Flair Red's.

Re: RG550 Cleanup

i think its either pink salmon or heather something. its right handed, and the paint might have faded a bit since 1990

Re: RG550 Cleanup

duh, of course its right handed, I was using that as an analogy of how catalogs never showed everything.

Re: RG550 Cleanup

I think that I am going to leave the fretboard like that. It gives it a vintage look to go along with the trem, i like it.

Re: RG550 Cleanup

I think the finish could be Coral Mist. Not sure. That's what it looks like to me.

Re: RG550 Cleanup

the seller mentioned that it could be a color called something with heather but again it wasn't in the 1990 catalog. in 91 the closest they had was pink salmon.

Re: RG550 Cleanup

nice nice. what ever it is I like it. I seems to change shades in different lighting, kind of like the RFR or the DY. Sometimes it looks completely pink, other times it looks red.
