Re: rg550 think it over!

The new one. It has a superior neck, plus it'll always be worth more (keep it mint and with the case and accessories), plus it's brand new out of the box. Nothing like the feeling of an untouched guitar. Only choose the old one if finances are limited.

EDIT: Scratch that. If you are not even sure if you want the 20th or the older one, just pick the older one and leave the 20th for someone who'll really appreciate it.

Re: rg550 think it over!

Seeing as you can get the older one for less money and they dont appear to be any different, why spend the extra. The matching case is pretty nice, but not worth the extra money. Besides, you know when they come out all that's going to happen is people are going to complain that the originals are way better anyway. Isnt that what guitar players do?

Re: rg550 think it over!

No. I don't think that's how it will be at all, elcid. The new one is better, the neck is stronger and it has Prestige finishing.

I voted for the new one. As stated above, it does have some better qualities.

Im sure the anniversary does have it's advantages, but I also know guitar players and more often then not most will say something old is better than a reissue, even if it clearly isnt.

Re: rg550 think it over!

I had to go with the 20th for the numbers and reinforced neck. The older ones are reasonable on auction and usually available.

Well, if that's so, then they are idiots and what they say is irrelevant. The new 550 will kick butt, end of story.

No contest.

Older, older, older.

But I suppose no-one can comment UNTIL they have actually played a 20th for themselves.
