Re: rg560
Guitar Center had a limited run made in the early 90's, with a
maple fretboard
and matching
reverse headstock
. Dont know how many were made, I know of two locally.

Re: rg560
"back in the day" a store could order either a maple or a
rosewood neck
on the 500 series guitars, the necks wereoften stamped 550M and 550R for maple and rosewood respectively.

Re: rg560
no, it's definately not an rg565. it has the hss pickup configuration and rg560 stamped on the inside of the neck pocket on body and neck. there is a picture of it in another post called i think "odd reverse headstock rg560" that was posted a couple of months ago before i bought it off e@#*bay.
as soon as i work out how i will try to post a hi res picture of it.

Re: rg560
I was going to post the same thing here. I just picked one up yesterday. It's like a metallic red/orange body w/ a maple fretboard, black hardware and Edge. H-S-S pickups. 1987. The
bridge pickup
is odd though, it has no markings anywhere, no "V2" or "V8". All the wiring is completely stock so it wasn't replaced.

If it were any 87 i think it would have had the F series logo on it, these wore off quite easily, these pickups looked a bit like dimarzios, but the polepieces were just a tad different.

Yes it does look like a DiMarzio. That's exactly what I was thinking. I looked at the back of it though and there is no marking at all. Are these decent pickups? I think it sounds alright so far but I haven't played loud yet. Seems to be medium output and on the brighter side.

They are decent pickups imo, the best stocks that dimarzio ever made. Particullarly i love the F2 which just has a great sound to it to me. Some dont like them of course! I tend to enjoy medium output pickups in a few of my guitars, but at the same time i have things, like the
duncan invader
, and a dimebucker in one!
