Rg570 1992

hi, im plannig to get an RG570 form 1992, i saw on the catalog from that year on ibanezrules that it has Lo pro edge, instead of the edge that the RG500s have all the other years they were manufactured... why is that?? is the same lo pro than the jems??? is it reliable?? or only a prototipe (i think it was introduced by ibanez on that year)

thanks to all

Re: Rg570 1992

Yeah, the early 570's have a Lo Pro Edge... lower profile than the original edge, arguably better?

It's definitely got a lower profile than the Edge.... saddle string bolts are behind the saddle (instead of below the fine tuners), and the fine tuners are lower than the original edge.

That 570 should also have the original (super thin) wizard neck, along with a heelplate (instead of teh AANJ).

Good guitar, everyone should own one.

Re: Rg570 1992

the only problem with the 570 is the fact that there is no contoured heel at all, not even like 550's. So if you've played a 550 and didn't like the block joint, your gonna hate the 570's...I guess this is the sacrifice for the rear routing.

As far as I know, the only RGs without the heel slant were the 1990-93 RG4xx. Looks like an RG5xx, but no slant heel, black headstocks, etc.. RG570's should have the heel slant.

Yeah I have a 91' 570 and it has the heel slant...why would the fact of it being rear routed have anything to do with them adding the slant? And yes jlander they are among the most reliable trems there are just like the original edge.

Re: Rg570 1992

thats strange then, because I have a 90' 550 and it has the slant, but my 92' 570 doesn't, unless I was lied to and its really a 4xx...

Re: Rg570 1992

That is wierd, maybe someone else with a 92' 570 without a slant can chime in and confirm it's been made both ways, either that or ibanez forgot to do it on your 570 lol

I'd suspect that if you don't have a beveled heel, then the guitar is a 470. I have a 1991 570 and it's got a slanted heel plate. If it's missing the beveled heel, and also the routing for the output jack, then you got yourself a 470.

Re: Rg570 1992

hi, first thanks for the answers...

i talked to the owner and told me it has an edge trem not the lo pro, but according to the serial number it was produced in in 1992 (F2XXXX) maybe an early 1993? or a late 1991????

someone said, that the lo pro arent better than the original edge, besides the size and shape, why?

thanks

Re: Rg570 1992

I think they're both great bridges. As for one's superiority over the other, that's debatable. You can't argue with the fact that the lo-pro is just that... lower profile.

They both do a great job... I have the edge on a 1998 RG, and love it too.

Re: Rg570 1992

hi all, i have a 92 rg570 with a flame top and lo pro, i also have a 93 rg550 with an edge, i find the lo pro more comfortable to play, i think its a better bridge imho, ps the neck block routing is identical from my 570 to 550

Re: Rg570 1992

Both the Edge and LoPro Edge use the same manufacturing, same materials, sound the same, hold tuning the same. It's really like comparing a couple guitar body shapes made from the same tree. One might feel more comfortable to you than the other, but it doesn't make the other lesser, they are equal.
