RG570 Anniversary?
The 570 was my first Ibanez and, as you can probably tell by my moniker, one of my favorites in the line.
I was looking through the Ibanez catalogs online and found myself wondering when the
RG570
was introduced. Was it 1989 or 1990? Is it due for a 20th?
Based on the sales of the RG770DX, I'm wondering if Ibanez is going to continue on the anniversary reissue path.
Any thoughts?

Re: RG570 Anniversary?
They should make one. In a decent color other than black. The 570 is always like the workhorse guitar to me. Good price, and just as good as the 550, but never gets enough credit. My first Ibanez was a 570 as well.

Isn't the 570 just a 550 without a pickguard?

Re: RG570 Anniversary?
I think the better way to say that is: "The 570 is rear routed while the 550 is top routed."
Or something...

I'm pretty sure the 570 was first released in '89.

Well, if that's the case I'm guessing that's a big "no" on seeing a reissue.
Yeah, 570 is pretty much the same guitar as a 550, but the rear route makes it sound different. I guess beyond that they're too similar.

Re: RG570 Anniversary?
The "ash bodied RG570" is was released in Europe as the RG547 and RG548 depending on hardware, and was available in the mid 90s.

Re: RG570 Anniversary?
What would be the point?
You can buy a 1570 now, and the last thing Ibanez needs is another "plain jane" 500 series with a rosewood board.
Give me something other than a dull color over basswood.
Figured wood, binding, a decent tremolo, something...

Re: RG570 Anniversary?
i wish they came out again with the rg570ct. i own a 1995 ct and i have not found another version tonal wise i would want as much. the alderbodied ct version is truely a superstrat with ethereal sound and i wish the never stopped making that verison. do you think it will ever come out agian. or will there never be another reasonable priced alder bodied ibanez. will i have to save up for expensive jem's and at's to get what i want to collect int he future?

Re: RG570 Anniversary?
I like that green 517!
Here's a cheap idea for a qasi-reissue: take 3-4 of the most popular paint schemes of the original RG570 and paint the 1570 those colors in a limited run. I would go for a purple neon or laser blue 1570. It would need a matching headstock, though.
They probably won't do anything with all the RG770DX's still hanging on music store walls around the US.
