RG570 vs Jem555

Much of the complaint with the Jem555 is in its LoTRS trem. *The RG has the real deal and costs a lot less. *Yet, they don't come close to the VWH. *Although I would save up for a VWH, at $1600 it is the RG570 times 2.5.

So -- what should I do? *And what is the deal with the 555. *Why does the model exist? * *I mean, the 555 costs a LOT more than the 570 and by this community's standards, is inferior.

It exhists because it fills the need for a budget price JEM for those wanting the JEM look/feel ect., but can't afford the price. The 555 may be gone though. I believe the new JEM is supposed to replace the series, and sport the ever loved Lo Pro. Priced at just over the current 555! And it's MY favorite color Final details are still pretty sketchy (Korea vs. Japan etc.) but the only thing I'm positive is it didn't make the Winter catalog so we have to wait for a Summer launch. Always possible they will start bringing them in earlier though.

Hooray for the death of 555!!!

How bout a JEM666? *In black with skull knobs and a severed headstock? *Maybe not.

I thought Rich's favorite color was either Donnie, Rainforest or clear....

Good to see Ibanez go in the right direction. Next step replace LoTRS with either a tune-o-matic, a wilkinson trem, vintage trem, an American standard strat trem or a fixed bridge. Am I hoping for too much.

I still think the RG570 is an amazing deal. *You can pick one up for around $575 new and the thing rocks. *Granted, not a Jem, but close enough and you don't have to worry about being too careful with it. *The prices on new Jem's seem to keep increasing. *What is it $1,600 for a VWH? *Out of my league for now.

I just bought a new RG570. *This'll be my third RG and I'm still impressed with the guitar overall. *It plays, sounds, and looks awesome. *
