RG570 vs RG1570: what are the diffs?

So: When they discontinued the RG570 and replace with the RG1570, presumably there were some changes to justify adding a whole *1000* to the model number. I'm no expert, but the specs I've see looks pretty similar; so what were/are the differences?

Just curious having just bought a (very!) second hand 1998 RG570.

Hmm... probably they got up to 1000 to differentiate it from its Korean/Indonesian counterparts.

Well, in 1998 at least, the RG570 was being made in Japen.

Maybe it's "model number inflation"!

AFAIK 570s were only MIJ.

The differences are Edge Pro bridge, Prestige finished neck, & no pickup rings.

Is the Edge Pro an improvement over the original Edge? And how does the Prestige finished neck vary from a normal "super wizard" neck?

i also want to know this i own a 570 and a 1570 and personally i dont see much of a difference either even though my 570 imho sounds just a bit better

the "prestige" finish is really not much different its just a few more finer sandings basically. mostly just process changes thats all
