Rg680

Hello everyone
I bought Ibanez Rg680 some days ago and i cannot find SUCH ibanez all over the internet. Absolutely no information about it.

Friend said, that he had seen this Ibanez in an Ibanez catalog, but I don`t … Guitar was made in 1996
I took of the neck and looked under it - jep, it`s rg680 ...

i checked all the catalogues on ibanez rules between 1994-2002 and it's not on any of them.
but sure enough you got an awesome looking axe

RG680 - these were available in the UK during the mid 90's.
It's a RG770 with direct mount QM pickups which was marketed as 680 at least here in the UK.

There were RG670DX which had maple fingerboard and RG680CM with flame top - there were 3-4 years when we had them here but that happened before html and broadband so I'm not sure if they were marketed in other countries.

Pretty nice I'd say - those were the RG2570 of their day.

About the pickups - I've heard people say that the QM pickups are not as good as the IBZ/USA that were in the RG770's but I can't remember what they sounded like as I've not played one in many years.
About IBZ/DMZ - that's anyone's guess, I've not tried them either.

If you don't like them just replace them.
This is a very cool guitar and I think in good condition is worth around £320-£350 here in the UK so if you got it for less than £300 you got a deal.
