rg77 any ideas?

hey guys i got a neck from the bay that has "RG 77" stamped on the back, and it has a green tree of life inlay on the fretboard and no binding. also has an AANJ. it says made in korea and the serial number starts with a C (I've read this mean its made by Cort?)

here are a couple links to pics

Re: rg77 any ideas?

It was not made in Korea--it's a Chibanez! The Chinese counterfieters used the "C" serial number for most of the knock-offs they put out. They later wised up a bit, and started using F-serial numbers. Anyway, that's a FAKE neck, and I sincerely hope you didn't pay much for it. I say BURN IT! :O
Most likey, that P.O.S. came off this bigger P.O.S.:

Re: rg77 any ideas?

i was kinda thinking it might be a chibanez. i only paid what the tuners and nut were worth to me. i was going to give it a try anyway on my rg350 and possibly make another back up guitar out of spare/cheap parts

Re: rg77 any ideas?

with the neck layin here i can't see any difference in it while moving the truss rod. looks like i've got an extra nut and tuners and a neck to hang on the wall

Re: rg77 any ideas?

Or you could practice stuff on it, like Scallops, re-fret etc

Re: rg77 any ideas?

practicing a refret is actually something i thought of right away! my jackson V has little baby frets on it and i like super jumbo's.......almost like playing on a scalloped board

i will.....the green inlay sure is purdy though. kinda bummed out right now though, i was hoping i'd at least be able to use the neck but hey, its gonna be good practice and i'll do a DIY step by step if/when i do it.....i'm in college/working at walmart so it'll be a week or 2 before i can buy all the tools and enough fret wire
