Re: Rgt pickups

what pups does it have now?
you cant go wrong with dimarzios, check out the dimarzio evo poll going on now.
whether you need evo's or not is the question, YES, you need dimarzios but which ones...
what sort of stuff do you play ?

Re: Rgt pickups

The RGT320 doesn't have Dimarzio Evolution pickups...and to my knowledge it never has. The guitar comes with Dimarzio IBZ pickups which are not even close to Dimarzio Evolution pickups and I believe that in the past the guitar used to come with a Dimarzio Tone Zone/Air Norton or dual PAF Pro combo. If you're not happy with the stock pickups in your guitar (which are either powersounds or Infinity's depending on the year) then definitely change them. For metal/heavy rock you really can't go wrong with EMGs and they are definitely my pickup of choice for those genres. I would go with dual EMG 85s or maybe 89s simply because the EMG 85 is my favorite pickup in both the bridge and the neck. EVO's wouldn't be bad either if that's the kind of sound that you're going for. I personally am a super big fan of the Tone Zone/Air Norton combo.
