RT & RG - Quality comparison

In case you guys haven't figured out yet, I am in the market for a decent fixed bridge (or vintage style trem) Ibanez.

I have owned an RT, and am pretty aware of the quality of the guitar, but I am interested in your opinions of the quality differences between the RG & RT guitars.

I understand that RTs are no longer available, except in the used market.

I think there's one on Ebay right now - with a buy it now of $229

they've labelled it wrong in the auction but *I think it's what you're after

If you're after a fixed bridge one - maybe consider the PGM 500 ? or I think they had some stop tail sabres a few years back (92-93?) or even hunting down a JS6?

If you can stretch your funds, how about a USRG10 ?
It will surely be of very high quality

Go see them in the....well you should know this...in the catalgue subsection of the guitars section.

I had the PGM hardtail, but the F-Holes don't do it for me. *That would be a refinish job that would insult the guitar!

I actually picked up an RT650, and with a little work, it'll do just fine.

RTs were made in Japan, and judging by the one I have, the quality seems to be up there with the RG. *The RT even has Alder instead of Basswood, which is quite nice.

I think the rt650's are great all bound out and flamey. I think of the rt's as more vintage guitar filling ( cause of the fater necks and old style trems) then the rg line which for thoes of us *who never use there floyd rose trems think is great!
