S520 or Herman Li Sig

So Summer Namm is right around the corner...Should I buy an S520 now or wait until Summer Namm and see if they reveal the Herman Li sig? His sig sounds like the best S Ibanez has ever made so far (24 Fret S, Evo/FS1/Evo, ZR (Maybe Lo-TRS, hopefully not))

Does anyone know for a fact if they are revealing it or not?

By the way, I don't want it for his name, or because it's his sig. I want it because it is basically the best S to date.

NAMM isn't far away so I would wait unless you absolutely need the guitar right now. It'd be annoying to buy the 520 now only to see Ibanez release something amazing at NAMM (I'm not holding my breath though).

There was an article on "Total Guitar" magazine that featured a prototype of a signature model - 24 fret Sbody with matte orange flame top.

its up to you man. I would wait just to see if something cool comes up at NAMM. Otherwise, if you find some guitar that is orgasmic, why not get it if you like it?

Was it a "prototype" or just a custom?

And why are people keep talking about a TRS trem? Why would ibanez put a TRS on any of the guitars? The TRS is long gone.

It was a Prototype and he couldn't give out much info on it but the only questionable thing on it was that he didn't say whether it was a TRS, and Edge, or a ZR. He talks a lot of the forums though about how he prefers the TRS to the Edge and ZR...

Actually, the truth is... Total Guitar misquoted. That orange-ish guitar (colour is actually: PR for Prominence - http://www.ibanez.co.jp/japan/produc...G8470F_PR.html) is not a signature prototype. It is a S with 24 frets prototype.

I can't believe people still goes on about the TRS! Able to use doesn't mean preferred.

Me too! Whether or not it has Herman's name on it or not, I'm there! The 24 fret issue is the only thing that has kept me from buying an S guitar. Same thing with a P540II (I could have even gotten over the fact that it was pink!).
