S540 Neck Question

A search on that listing didn't work for me, but it's easy to tell. If the 4 holes form a rectangle, it's the old strat style (non-AANJ). Otherwise, it's an AANJ. Said another way, if the 2 low E side holes are further apart than the 2high E holes, it's an AANJ.

BUT (many threads on this, so do a search), be aware that a 22-fret non-AANJ neck can be made to fit on a 22-fret AANJ body: requires filling a hole and doing a bit of neck shaving/sanding.

Something very bizarre happened there -- I posted a reply to dragsternj, but my post bumped the original to 2nd place.

Hmm... I have great power now -- wonder if I can do that same trick to other posts? I could be the OP on ALL the really cool important threads. You know, all those old threads about Rainforests and stuff could be MINE!! I could use this to great advantage and become the most exalted member of JemSite. Gotta go, much work to do...

How do you figure out if a neck is AANJ, or the old style. I got a neck off the bay for a S540 after not being able to buy one, i thought i build one.
