Scored my 770

As most of you know I've been looking for a Ibanez RG770DX. Well I haven't found one but I came across an excellent condition '92 770 at music go round outside of Pittsburgh. Called the guy today who sent me some pics and he said it was put on the floor last night. I couldn't pass it up great price. She'll be here Friday. CAN'T WAIT!!! Frets are a little dirty and there is 1 chip at the top of the head and some dimpling on the bridge. No cracks, or other dings. This thing looks to be in great shape for 16 years old.

Of course I told the wifey quick so she wasn't surprised at the package. Cooked a nice dinner and had it ready when she got home. Let this be a lesson to you non married folks. Always pick your battles and charm the wife at the right moment. :-*

Re: Scored my 770

very hot... most 7xx guitars share the "feel" on the neck, almost-paper thin! now add some color to the knobs and p/u :P

I think that's actually a 750DX, but nice guitar nonetheless.

Nice!
that is the same color as mine- Lazer Blue. Mine is a 91' though. I have white pickups and knobs on it which looks pretty good IMO.

Re: Scored my 770

Congrats on that one Fin. A buddy of mine sent me pics of that one this morning...I guess he talked to the same guy. Those 770s a real nice. Loving the teal as well.

Dani...I'm in the same boat as you. My wife's definitely not gonna love seeing that box with the RBM in it next week. And I can't cook to save my life...LOL!!

Re: Scored my 770

thanks for the compliments guys. I'll post pics of her when she gets here.

Wixo, can you post a pic of yours with the white?

I had some of these on my old 320DX
http://www.wdmusic.com/q_parts_dome_13638_ctg.htm
but am curious of what the strat style knobs would look like.

I'm thinking of replacing the pups but was wondering if they make a similar color single like what you see on the DX? I dig the blue on blue.

I really dig my ToneZone in my 8470 but am looking for feedback on a similar style pup/tone for this basswood body. Any suggestions?

Uber, I saw the ad on go around with no pic, sent an email and decided to check my inbox as I was leaving work yesterday and viola, there she was. The guy I talked to was Jesse. Cool dude without the GC type attitude. Very helpful.

He said they just posted it and I knew it wouldn't last long in that condition. Gave him my cc and address info, hung up the phone and immediately said "Uh oh, what the hell did I just do? Great, I'm dead. So what can I do nice for the wife to compensate?" Ha ha

Re: Scored my 770

I didn't mind the price as one's with cracks, dings and chips were going for just as much on the Bay. For an excellent condition 16 year old axe I thought the price was fair and he has a 48 hour window to return it if I'm not happy.

Plus the fact it saves me the hassle of having to bid for one.
