Should I sell '99 s470 for an ESP Ax-2e?

I like my s470. I put a Duncan Distortion in the bridge and .60 gauge Zakk Wylde GHS string on it, tuned to drop C. Sounds pretty mean! I play mostly metal.

However, I have the opportunity to purchase an ESP Ax Series (2e) for only $300 new. Here is the link to the ESP: http://www.espguitars.com/guitars_ax.html

I promised my wife I wouldn't buy an more guitars without selling some equipment to fund the purchase!

Thanks for your opinions.

If it ain't broke don't fix it dude if you get my meaning. Your S470 seems to be doing the job fine.

Checked out the 'ESP'. Don't like the shape but then again I really only like strat shaped guitars anyway so I'm gonna be biased (unfairly?) against it.

no, i think the esp is fine for metal, but it won't cut through near as well, no matter what pickups you put in it. keep the ibanez, it'll blow the esp away

Thanks for you feedback. I actually need to play the ESP through my Invader 100 and Axefx. I'll let you know my verdict.

not that for a s470 - in my eyes looks tack and a bit of a rip off of a BC rick warlock....

it wont give you the playability and tone, and the lower end models aren't fantastic, especially put next to a properly setup S470!
