Should they bring back the destroyer??

I really want one of these guitars. and i cant find the one i want on the bay. its always those puny half-a$$ed ones.

do you guys think they should bring it back? like really, they remade another iceman guitar. they should bring back the destroyer II and DT420. i love those guitars.

I've been a fan of bringing back a real destroyer for years.

Yes! I saw a picture in my guitar encyclopedia of Phil Collen playing one and I want! Imagine one in the chameleon finish of the Xiphos

I think the Destroyer was an exact copy or the Explorer, so they couldn't sell it state-side, if that is the case.

Hells yes! An old-school DT-400 or the Phil Collen DT-555! I've been jonesing for one. A modern-day version done right would be great! I don't understand why Ibanez doesn't sell them. It seems all of their competitors have an "Explorer-type" copy. I guess the Xyphos is supposed to fill that spot but IMO it's ugly and too pointy. It lacks the class of a Destroyer.
Or maybe they were trying to fill the need with that monstrosity, the ADD120!

Yeah, they could add it to the X line of instruments, then it might come standard with D-Activators

No more than the ESP LTD EX series is. And I wonder what EX stands for Maybe they worked out a deal with Gibson though, I know there was a lawsuit about their original line of Explorers.

The destroyer was, the destroyer 2 was not. Although I dont think there was ever actually any lawsuit. I read about it somewhere.

Adrian Smith and EVH had some rather nice Destroyers back in the day, too.

Re: Should they bring back the destroyer??

They need to bring it back the right way or not bring it back at all. MIJ, set neck, flamed top, bound body/neck, inlays, etc.. No more bastardized versions of the Destroyer or Iceman and definitely no piss poor Indo crap!

Re: Should they bring back the destroyer??

i dont like remakes....they must make new cool guitars with cool paint jobs.
and dont look back.if you want an old type guitar buy a old one.it would always be a remake.just like the 550 and the 770 or so..it's nothing for me but i understand that others like it.there are a lot on the bay...so take a look!
sure you find it.there are a lot around

What about a DT400 J Custom reissue like they did with the artist?

I would like to see the MIJ bolt on version back too (Candy apple red and gloss black please...)
