Sims custom shop swirls

Has anyone had their guitar painted from these guys? I want to send out my 7 string for a swirl, but wanted to hear some feedback. I did use the search function, so no "comments" please! If you could post up some pics that would be great. Thanks for the help.

I just received my PGM301 back from Sims last week and their work is second to none. I posted pics in this thread.

Please bear in mind that the owner, Patrick Sims, is in the hospital right now recovering from brain surgery so he won't be able to reply to any inquires for probably at least a few weeks.

Patrick is doing well and will be back to work as soon as he's ready. That man loves to paint guitars.

That paint job was around $900. It was pretty labor intensive and took around 38 hours.

Way out of my budget, but a nice job anyways. I think that I'm going to get either the red, black and white swirl or some crazy yellow and orange. I can't decide on the color combo for my 7 string.

he will probably won't charge as much for a swirl. Toneboys PGM paint scheme is very complex and involves alot more work then a swirl. Patrick has price chart page on his site. didn't you check on that?

I've got a swirl from Patrick: GMC-ish on a rg-570 body he was selling just before the surgery. The colors (green, black, white) are great and the finish is to DIE for.

It's perfect- looks like you could stick your hand right in the paint. Smooth as glass/ buttah/ baby's butt/ silk/ Barry White- you get the idea. You can check out the thread at:

As has been mentioned, he'll be down and out for about a month or two (brain surgery and all that jazz) but I talked to him just before and he was in high spirits about getting back to work, and having a goal can really help the healing process (positive thinking and all that

). Expect to wait for him to get back on his feet, but you'll be happy with the result- I sure am.

Is he in America, 'cause I'm not sending my guitar out of the states. If so, how much does he charge for a 4 or 5 color swirl? I already checked Sims pricing and want to stick around a $500 price range.

OK, got the color combo I want. I'm going with the Passion and Warfare color scheme. Can anyone tell me the exact color codes I need to have the job completed. Just by eye-balling the pic: Yellow, black, hot pink, green, red

That absolutely INSANE beautiful HERC swirl has no red paint.
It's an illusion mixing the hot pink and the yellow paints.
Custom ATD swirls usualy has red paint on the PAW swirl scheme.
Both ways (with or without red paint) is killer!
Herc is a true artist!

Patrick contacted me, and I'm going with a custom color combo on a PAW swirl.
1) hot pink
2) neon green
3) fluorescent yellow
4) fluorescent orange
5) black
Leaving the headstock black, and trying to figure out what trem to get the guitar. Guitar is 7420MC 7 string currently

Tell me what you guys think.
