single locking trem


ok, i would like to know what a single locking floyd style trem is. i have a floyd rose II that doesnt lock at the bridge, only at the nut. is this all they are because i have seen in ibanez catalogs guitars equipped with single locking bridges but it looks like the lock at the bridge.

You're correct regarding the difference between single and double- locking tremolo systems. I can't remember the last time I saw a single-locking trem system though.

I think you may have one of those mystery rg shaped guitars with floyd rose II and single-ply pickguard (if it is Ibanez).

you're probably referring to the new SynchroniZR, which you actually string it by the back of the block, like on Strats tremolos, and don't lock.



actually they don't even lock at the nut.

the rg 270 says single locking but it looks like a double to me.

oh, you meant the old catalogs... ok, then it's a Single Locking Floyd licensed. you insert the strings into a hole in the back of the string lock screws, and they come out of a hole on the saddle. check the pics below:
