so, like the title says i dug out my Ibanez
RG7620. I bought it a few years ago in a pawn shop for about $500. At the time, they were $1299 new. Anyhoo, later i installed a pair of DiMarzio Evolution 7s. It sounded great, but about that time my band broke up, i met my wife, got married, yadda yadda. I would get it out and mess around with it from time to time, but last week i pulled it out and its been welded to my hands ever since. ha ha. it was the plain black ibanez paint job. so, i put on some white knobs, a white switch tip, and painted the truss rod cover white. while i was modding, i replaced the crackly 5 way switch with a Tele 3-way. today, i bought a push/pull volume pot and wired it to split the coils. now instead of 3 pickup options, i have 6. And after all that, I set up the tremolo. I had it blocked, but for some reason this one sounds way better when the bridge is floating the way its supposed to. The guitar is great. the fact that its a seven string turned me off for a long time, but now that i have been playing it for a week straight it doesnt matter. i tune it standard, but the low B is dropped to A. so you get AEADGBE. weird. sorry to take up space with it, but it sounds so good that i had to tell someone about it. ha ha.
One more thing....i need to replace one of the locking screws on the nut that has stripped. i also wanna get some of those covers for the pickups so that they will be white. bobbin toppers or something like that? (i know its cheating, but whatever...) Do you guys know of a place that has both so i can just get it all from the same place? I'd like to save on the shipping.....Thanks.
