Re: SR basses made in Japan?

Are looking to buy one? Because the Korean SR basses I've played have been SWEET. And they weren't even the prestige ones (I'm not sure if those are Japan or Korea). If I was buying a bass I'd be going for the SR500. Mmmmm. Other than that, I have no idea what the answer to your question is, sorry . . .

Re: SR basses made in Japan?

Yes, I found one in a local shop and loved it, but the frets were in bad shape, so I want to keep an eye out for another. I play guitar and need a bass for my home recording and I really love the slim neck.

I am prejiduce towards MIJ guitars, not that Korea couldn't make high quality feeling guitars but I haven't played any.

I did like a S series guitar I tried out, but prefered my MIJ Jackson

Re: SR basses made in Japan?

Yeah my brother has the SR fretless thats MIK. It's pretty sweet - one of the nicest basses I've played for the price for sure. If the SR prestige basses are MIJ thats cool - it explains the huge price tag, but they're all neck-thru with woody finishes, and that gets old after a while. My bro paid around $600 CDN for his bass, but the SR prestige basses go for $1400 Cdn around here (some of them). I mean I doubt they're that much better.

No, I can't afford a new Prestige, this one was $200 maybe I'll get it and try to refret it, and I actually prefer bolt-ons or at least the upainted feel of the necks
