A past **** auction I read said that it was a prototype, made only a few, and didnt decide to put them into full production. I dont know if this is BS or not. Sounds reasonable.

I believe it was a special made for one of the large retail chains...not too sure about it though.

These were special edition 550DX made in limited run for Musical Exchanges in Coventry and they were not available outside of UK.
Guitars were available in Yellow and Green and the cartoony snakes are so funny that these normaly sell for less than normal 550s.

Are those snakes pained on under the clear, or are they somehow inlaid? They are very odd looking to me, without being great or not great. Just....different.
