strange lo pro

hello quys

I'm new over here, so the first thing I wanna do is say "hay".

I have a question. I have a JPM100P4 and I have some problems with my tremolo. When I pull it back or push it forward the tuning somehow is (depending on the move) higher or lower than the original. When I stretch or loosen it in the opposite direction, the tuning goes back to normal. I have heared the same thing before on a Dutch board, but I didn't follow that tread. The only thing I remember was a link to the JEMsite. So I will ask it over here. Does anyone have the same problem or had the same problem and what can I do about it, because it virtually makes my trem useless...

yeah i have that problem too. the problem is bad knife edges. you need to file them. someone else i'm sure could explain this much better.

Ah, that makes sense indeed! thanx...

I hope somebody will give me some good advice about how to handle that, because I have a pretty bad feeling about messing with my guitar

Make sure to go through the full checklist first. You'll probably end up the same place but you need to rule everything else out first. You'll probably need to replace the posts too.

i aslo have to buy the files to file them though. so shipping charges and what ever rich would charge would probably be around the same price, and i could order the new posts through him too

I've never attempted to file them loose. If you can pull them, you can file them.
