suggestions for my RG570 rig

I just bought a new RG570. Here is what I want some help on. I play prog metal and am looking for a setup that is not particularly versatile, what I want is a semi-deep distorted tone ala Symphony X and a more crunchy tone ala '83 metallica.

1) The stock pickups are very deep and bassy. I'd like to have a more crunchy pickup for the bridge pickup. suggestions?
2) For the neck pickup, I want that semi-deep tone that is nice for shredding. suggestions?
3)I have no idea about the single coil, any ideas?

That takes care of pickups. My amp is a peavey bandit 112. Unfortunately I don't have the money right now to buy something better. any suggestions for this?

The last thing would be a distortion pedal. I have a metal zone but it's busted right now and I have no idea how to fix it (power isn't being transmitted through it). Any suggestions or any other good pedals?

In my humble opinion, the sound you're looking for can be accomplished by installing a Dimarzio Tone Zone in the bridge and a Dimarzio Air Norton in the neck. As far as middle goes, I'd leave it stock - although many here swear by either a Blue Velvet or HS-2.

What about the JPM setup for the pu's?(Steve's Special bridge,Air Norton neck). Petrucci sounds pretty good with those pu's, plus his JPM Ibanez model was also basswood

The Bandit 112's a great sounding amp. If you want a step up from that for a little more cash - the Stereo/Classic Chorus 212 is a TREMENDOUS combo amp. My all-time fav!

As far as PU's... I use TZ's in the bridge of my 550. Good stuff.
