Cort is outsourced to produce most the big-name-brand korean axes... including those with an Ibanez headstock. If the serial number on a recent ibanez guitar begins with a "C" then it's korean made in the Cort factory.

See the FAQ for info on the Japanese-made ibanez guitars and serial numbering.

How about per model? Isn't there a price/model break where they are Japanese made? Or are they all Korean made now?

... oops.... sorry, didn't see the last line of your post. I'll check the FAQ.

many ibanez guitars (ie. the less-cheap ones) are Japanese made. These are the ones that people dig.

some ibanez guitars are Korean made (the ones we mock on here, like the 555 and JS100)

some ibanez guitars are made in China i believe also.

That's what I was quite sure of but wanted to make sure my facts were straight before spouting off. This guy was semi bashing Ibanez in general, telling a guy to go buy a Cort before an Iby. We can't have that, now can we I'll set him straight.

The C actually stands for Choson I believe, just a coincidence Cort also starts with a C

I believe if you look Cody was the one that said C = Cort, Butch just said it was made by Cort.

well, if you read this thread, i said "C" is made by cort.... didn't say it stood for "cort" or anything else but it's irrelevant really.

Well, to confuse the situation Ibanez has also subbed work to Samick, and their factory is also Choson You could consider any current production Ibanez as Cort though.

It couldn't have been ER - Zeek said the dude was only semi bashing Ibanez.

ER usually goes for the throat and an all out assault type bashing!
